With both teams unable to full a full roster, the Remembrance Sunday game was played 11-a-side.
Crowborough had brought an experienced team who wanted to run directly and early exchanges showed that the strong Crowborough runners would be a challenge, and they were able to run in several early scores.
Hastings/Seaford were able to secure good ball on the back on the back pot great breakdown work, which resulted in a dominant scrum. This in turn gave the backs clean ball and they were able to make good distance.
The game progressed with dogged defence from Hastings/Seaford, forcing Crowborough to rely on strong ball carriers to create gaps which kept the scoreboard moving for the visitors.
Into the second half, Hastings/Seaford were able to find more ball and made several breaks with support players running great lines.
A line out to Hastings/Seaford saw them form a powerful driving maul that Crowborough had no answer to, and they were able to release the backs, resulting in a great try.
This try galvanised Hastings/Seaford, who further dominated the later phases of the game, stringing together phases which then led to a 2nd try which was further converted.
The intense match finished up 45-12 to Crowborough.
